What a top-up actually does
It buys another 180 days on the same +44 number. Nothing is reinstalled, no new QR, no new eSIM: the number you already use for WhatsApp, Telegram, PayPal and 2FA keeps working, and the clock simply moves forward from wherever it stood.
Renew before the end date, not after
If a number passes its end date without a top-up, it is released and cannot be recovered - not by support, not by paying late. There is no grace period to fall back on. Every account tied to that number would need a new one, which is usually far more expensive than the renewal.
